PNS | DEHRADUN

Former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal has said that the Pauri bus accident has exposed the pathetic condition of health services in the mountainous parts of the State.  In a statement the senior leader of the Congress party expressed grief at the death of six passengers in the bus accident. He said that when those injured in the accident were taken to the district hospital in Pauri they faced many problems.

Godiyal claimed that there was an acute shortage of the staff and basic equipment to treat the injured in the hospital. He said that the accident has exposed the poor condition of the health services in Pauri which is a district headquarter. Godiyal said that the State government and the people of the State should take immediate cognisance of the pathetic condition of the health centres in the mountainous areas. “The health centres in the mountainous areas have become referral centres. Since we don’t have faith left in the Health minister we request the chief minister to take immediate cognisance of the issue. The CM should hold an in-depth and thorough review of the health services in the State,’’ he said.
