The city bus union president Vijay Vardhan Dandriyal expressed his gratitude to the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for the approval of Uttarakhand Clean Mobility Transformation Policy 2024. The Transport department will encourage city bus and Vikram operators to purchase environmentally friendly electric and CNG fuelled vehicles through subsidies.
The city bus union had sent a written appeal to the CM about three years ago regarding the same issue which was finally approved by the government in the cabinet meeting on Thursday, Dandriyal said. He said that city bus operators were feeling pressured financially to convert their vehicles into eco-friendly buses or buy a new one but this decision has provided them relief.
