A bus belonging to Kumaon Motors Owners Union Limited (KMOU), traveling from Pithoragarh to Haldwani, lost control and overturned on the Bhowali-Haldwani motor route near Beer Bhatti. However, no casualties were reported in the accident till late evening.
According to the bus owner Sunder Singh, the driver lost control while trying to avoid a smaller vehicle, causing the bus to overturn on the road. Singh claimed that a crane was dispatched to the accident site to clear the vehicle.
Eyewitnesses reported that more than 20 passengers, including the driver and conductor, were on-board at the time of the incident. While some passengers sustained minor injuries, they were given first aid and later sent home. The accident caused temporary traffic disruption in the area but authorities swiftly managed the situation.
