Cabinet sets up regulations for construction of underground parking in hills

Various decisions taken in cabinet meeting chaired by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami
In a major decision which would pave the way for construction of tunnel parking and underground parking in the mountainous parts of the state, the Uttarakhand cabinet approved new regulations for the underground parking in the state in its meeting on Wednesday. The state government has also appointed THDC Limited, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and UJVN Limited as agencies for construction of these underground and tunnel parking areas.
The state cabinet chaired by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took up 36 issues in its meeting on Wednesday.
Interestingly one of the issues of the meeting was implementing the policy of e- office already in practice in the state secretariat in the state cabinet as well. The cabinet approved the proposal.
The cabinet in its meeting of Wednesday also removed the hurdle of height in construction of terminals in the proposed Dehradun- Mussoorie ropeway project. Informing about the decision of the cabinet, the chief secretary SS Sandhu told media persons that the relaxation in the bylaws of height was given to the ropeway project which once constructed would help in decongestion of traffic between Dehradun and Mussoorie. He said that the construction of the ropeway would be expedited. In another decision which would help in construction of more towers of telecommunication companies in the state, the cabinet approved the proposal to bring uniformity in charges for construction of towers. The CS Sandhu said that as of now the local bodies have different by-laws. He said that to ensure expansion of the telecommunication services, the government of India has formulated a policy under which nominal charges are taken as fees for construction of these towers. On Wednesday the cabinet implemented this policy in Uttarakhand under which a fee of Rs 50,000 would be charged by the municipal corporations, Rs 25,000 in the Nagar Panchayats, Rs 10,000 in block Panchayats and Rs 5,000 by the village Panchayats for construction of mobile towers.
The cabinet also approved the proposal for setting up Uttarakhand Landslide Mitigation centre and its regulations in its meeting on Wednesday. This would help in better coordination and action during natural disasters.
Sandhu informed that the cabinet on the day also gave its nod for providing 100 acres of land free of cost for setting up a centre of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh in Kichha in Udham Singh Nagar district. This centre would have all the departments and would serve the people of Kumaon region.
In other decisions the cabinet approved the changes in the policy of allotment of plots for setting up industrial units under Medium Small and Marginal Enterprises (MSME). The charge would now be levied on circle rates. The cabinet also decided that the land of the Sugar mill Gadarpur would not be handed over to anyone.
A change in the regulation for recruitment of X-ray technicians was also made by the cabinet and it was decided that the entrance examination would now be of 100 marks only as against 200 marks ( 100 marks General ability, 100 marks technical) and only questions of technical aspect would be asked in it.
