The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has set up Cafe BRO- a refreshment and short-halting facility at Pandukeshwar in the Joshimath-Mana sector of Rishikesh-Mana highway. This initiative is part of the commitment of BRO towards nation-building and fostering the spirit of unity and adventure through the motto of ‘Ekta Evam Shradhanjali Abhiyan-2023’. This cafe is especially expected to benefit those travelling on the Char Dham circuit.
The first of its kind the cafe was inaugurated by the Union minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt in a synchronised virtual event from BRO School and Centre, Pune, during a function held to mark the 64th Raising Day of BRO.
The cafe to be run by BRO-Karmyogis is intended to be a pioneer of such facilities, to provide essential services like food, refreshments, parking, and re-fuelling to the tourists on the border roads. The cafe will have a dedicated medical facility with ATM and souvenir shop as well.
