Camera to check visitors’ temperature in Haridwar
As part of the technological enhancements being used to facilitate effective management of the Kumbh Mela 2021 in Haridwar, the authorities will be using a CCTV camera which will not only take pictures of the visitors in the parking but also check their temperature. The Kumbh Mela officer Deepak Rawat saw the demonstration of the camera with thermal scanner at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay parking facility here on Thursday.
The representatives of the company which has installed the camera at the parking facility informed that this camera functions automatically. This camera automatically scans the temperature of every person coming within its range. According to officials, this arrangement will help in implementing the standard operating procedures put in place for protection from Covid-19 during the Kumbh Mela.
The Kumbh Mela officer then inspected the parking area. He expressed dissatisfaction on seeing the lack of sanitation near the shops in the area. He directed the shopkeepers and officials concerned to ensure the desired level of sanitation. He also directed the officials to penalise those who litter public spaces. The officials were also instructed to keep the Kumbh Mela area free of beggars.
The additional Kumbh Mela officer Ramji Sharan Sharma, deputy Kumbh Mela officer Dayanand Saraswati and other officials were also present during the inspection.
