The Dehradun Cantonment Board has achieved the first position in the category of ‘Innovation and Best Practices’ under Swachh Survekshan 2021 (SS21) in India. The board representative will be felicitated for this achievement in the Rashtrapati Bhawan on November 20.
The ‘Innovation and Best Practices’ category was recently introduced by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) under SS21 to encourage the extra efforts put in by citizens and local bodies in the field of sanitation and waste management among others. Addressing the mediapersons on Thursday morning, the president of the board, Brigadier Anirban Datta said that it is an honour to get the first position in this category across the country.
He congratulated and thanked the chief executive officer (CEO) Tanu Jain and employees of the board stating that the board got this achievement due to their dedication and hard work. He also informed that MoHUA will felicitate the board on November 20 in the Rashtrapati Bhawan. It is pertinent to mention here that the results of all categories under SS21 are expected to be revealed by next week.
