Cath lab, trauma centre & blood bank to come up in Srinagar: minister

The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that a modern trauma centre and a 1000 unit capacity blood bank would be set up in the Srinagar medical college. The minister made this declaration while addressing a media workshop and health interaction organised under the aegis of the National Health Mission (NHM) in Srinagar on Tuesday. He said that the State government is committed to provide better health facilities. He said that MRI, CT scan and X -ray machines have been provided to all medical colleges, district and sub district hospitals of the State.
The minister said that 171 assistant professors would soon join the medical colleges and 372 new doctors would be deployed in health centres which would remove the problem of shortage of doctors. He said that 850 ANMs and 2800 nurses would also be appointed soon in the State health services. The minister informed that a Cath lab would be set up in the Srinagar medical college soon after which the patients would not have to come to Dehradun and other places for heart related ailments. Interacting with the media persons, the minister said that media plays an important role in improvement in the health services and disseminating information to the general public.
The chief medical officer (CMO) of Pauri Dr Pravin Kumar, medical superintendent of the Base hospital Dr Ravindra Bisht and others were present on the occasion.
