The Dehradun regional office of the Central Bank of India celebrated the 144th birth anniversary of one of its founders, Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala here on Saturday.
Addressing the commemorative programme, the regional head, Rampramod Anand highlighted Sir Sorabji’s pioneering role in establishing India’s first wholly Indian-owned commercial bank in 1911.
The event concluded with a pledge taken by the staff members to uphold Sir Sorabji’s values of integrity, service and innovation in banking.
A swachhata Abhiyan was also carried out at the regional office premises.
