CBSE regional office Dehradun holds conference on basic literacy & numeracy

Under the aegis of CBSE regional office Dehradun, a state level conference on basic literacy and numeracy and public participation in the field of education was held at Delhi Public School Ranipur. The principals and city coordinators of over 300 schools from the plains of Uttarakhand and several districts of Uttar Pradesh participated. As this event came at a time when India is holding the presidency of G 20 nations, the conference had a special session on India’s participation in G20 and global agendas at G20 and their impact on the regional economy of Uttarakhand.
Joint secretary and regional officer CBSE Dehradun Ranbir Singh recounted in detail the changes and challenges that came in the arena of education after 1992. Lading the National Education Policy, he said that this facilitates creation of an excellent and accessible educational environment in the schools. He assured his availability for any kind of assistance in implementing this new system and to provide all possible help and guidance to the CBSE schools of the region.
CBSE city coordinator of Haridwar district and principal of DPS Ranipur, Anupam Jagga dwelt on the basic features of the New Education Policy and answered the queries asked by the participating principals. He urged everyone related to the field of education to adopt innovation.
Earlier, the children staged cultural programmes, including performance of ball dance, skating and cycling.
Pro vice- chairman, DPS Ranipur Sunil Somani and principal Anupam Jagga planted saplings to lay stress on environmental protection and also flagged off a children’s cycle rally which went around the city with the message of environmental protection.
