CCTV cameras & control room to come up in Kotdwar under MoU between police & BEL

The Pauri police and Bharat Electronics Limited signed a memorandum of understanding as per which hi-tech CCTV cameras and a modern control room will be established in Kotdwar. Pauri senior superintendent of police Shweta Choubey and BEL general manager Visheshwar Puchasigned the MoU. The company will facilitate the developments under its CSR plan. CCTV cameras will be installed in various parts of Kotdwar and a modern control room will be built as part of the project.
According to officials, BEL will install 50 hi-tech CCTV cameras, including 41 fixed, three PTZ and six ANPR cameras costing Rs one crore in Kotdwar. In addition to the installation of CCTV cameras at important and sensitive locations a modern police control room will be established. This control room is expected to play an important role in checking crimes.
