Centre approves Rs 883 crore for Samagra Shiksha in Uttarakhand

The Project Approval Board (PAB) of the Union ministry of Education has approved a budget of Rs 883 crore for Uttarakhand under the Samagra Shiksha project for the year 2025-26.
Expressing gratitude to the Union government for the budget approval, the Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the union government has allotted the budget for strengthening and computerisation of the education system in the State. He said that the union government has also given its consent to allot Rs 100 crore for the PM- Shree schools in the State.
He said that a team of the Education department led by secretary Ravinath Raman and director general of Education, Jharna Kamthan presented the proposals of innovative works of the department in the meeting of the PAB in New Delhi in a strong manner. He said that the budget approved by the PAB will be used to focus on digital and vocational education in the State.
Rawat said the budget will be used to set up smart classes in 307 schools, ICT labs in 165 schools and setting up laboratories of different subjects in 102 schools.
He said that outdoor play material and child friendly furniture will be made available in 553 Anganbadi centres in this financial year. Rawat added that the union government has appreciated the State for the increase in gross enrolment ratio and net enrolment ratio and reduction in the dropout rate of students in Uttarakhand.
The union education secretary Sanjay Kumar, additional secretary AK Singhal, joint secretary Amanpreet Duggal and officers from Uttarakhand attended the PAB meeting.
