Centre sanctions Rs 28.13 Cr health infra on Char Dham route

The union government has approved an additional budget of Rs 28.13 Crores for providing better health facilities to the pilgrims on the Char Dham route.

The government has also approved the proposal to set up a Cath lab and modern operation theatre in the Government medical college Srinagar.  The health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the State government had sent a proposal of Rs 32.85 crore under the National Health Mission (NHM) programme for strengthening health services on the Char Dham Yatra route. An acceptance for deployment of 100 Swathya Mitras has been given by the union government. He said that a sum of Rs eight crore is sanctioned for setting up a cath lab in Srinagar medical college and Rs one crore for an operation theatre.

Rawat added that the union ministry has approved a sum of Rs 16.47 crore for disbursing incentives to the doctors, nurses, paramedics and class IV employees deployed on the Char Dham Yatra route.

The minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union health minister for approving an additional budget for strengthening the health services on the Char Dham Yatra route.
