Under its Corporate Social Responsibility, the Century Pulp & Paper, Lalkuan has constructed four war widow housing units in Birla Block under Ranikhet Cantt. This significant project was jointly inaugurated by the chief executive officer of the company, Ajay Kumar Gupta and Brigadier S K Yadav, Commandant, Kumaon Regiment Centre.
This initiative, completed under the guidance of the company’s managing director, R K Dalmia, is a significant step towards honouring the sacrifices of the soldiers who laid down their lives in defence of the nation, Gupta said. “This housing facility will help provide war widows a safe, dignified and comfortable life,” he added.
Addressing the inaugural programme, he further said that the company is continuously working on projects related to education, health, environmental protection and social welfare under CSR.
On this occasion, the Century’s vice-president Naresh Chandra and many senior army officers were present.
