The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Uttarakhand, BVRC Purushottam has directed the Health department that the medical staff should compulsorily remain present in all the hospitals of the State on April 19, the day of voting in the State. He gave this order while presiding over a meeting of the senior officers and agencies associated with essential services at the State secretariat on Thursday. In the meeting the CEO also directed the officers of electricity and drinking water departments to ensure necessary arrangements at the polling stations.
Purushottam directed the officers of the Public Works Department (PWD) to keep the department on an alert mode till the polling parties return back from their destinations. The department has been asked to keep the main and link roads clear from landslides and other hindrances.
The Additional Chief Electoral Officer (ACEO) Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Pratap Shah and officers of many departments were present on the occasion.
