The chief electoral officer (CEO) Uttarakhand BVRC Purushottam held a meeting with the State icons of the Election commission at the secretariat on Wednesday. In the meeting he requested the State icons to ensure that the voter awareness programme reaches to the voters in a more comprehensive manner.
The CEO said that the voting for the Lok Sabha elections in all the five seats in Uttarakhand will be held on April 19 and more and more people should be encouraged to cast their votes. The voters should be encouraged to come to the polling booths in large numbers. The meeting was attended by Padma recipients Pritam Baratwan, Kalyan Singh Rawat, Bansanti Bisht and Madhuri Barthwal.
The additional chief electoral officer (ACEO) V K Jogdande, Joint chief electoral officer (JCEO) Pratap Shah, assistant CEO Mastu Das and others also attended the meeting.
