The Pauri district police have issued challans worth Rs 18,80,000 of 188 landlords and contractors in the verification campaign conducted so far. So far, the police has conducted verification proceedings of 136 tenants, 67 labourers and 81 vendors in different parts of the district on Sunday.
The police took action against 13 landlords who had not conducted the verification of their tenants. The police have issued challan of Rs 1,30,000 under the section 83 of Uttarakhand Police Act to these landlords and sent the challan to the court. It will be recalled that the verification of those coming from outside the State including students, labourers, tenants, domestic helps and others was started from November 6 after Shweta Choubey assumed the charge in the district’s senior superintendent of police.
