Fresh snowfall has covered various places on the Chamba-Mussoorie fruit belt including Dhanaulti, Kanatal and Surkanda Devi in a blanket of white. The farmers and fruit growers are happy at the snowfall even though it has occurred late. Due to the snowfall, a considerable number of tourists gathered in the usual destinations thronged by visitors following snowfall. The areas on the Chamba-Mussoorie fruit belt including Dhanaulti, received the second snowfall of the season in the early hours of Friday. There was only sporadic snowfall in the higher reaches last week. The entire Dhanaulti area is experiencing a chill due to heavy fall in the temperature following the snowfall. Due to less rain this season, farmers in many villages of the area have not been able to sow wheat crops. With the snowfall and rain resulting in sufficient moisture in the land, farmers will now get an opportunity to prepare the land for sowing potatoes and peas. Meanwhile, the tourists who reached here from nearby enjoyed the snowfall considerably on Friday.
