Following the tragic incident at the Namami Gange project site in Chamoli on Wednesday, the district magistrate Himanshu Khurana has nominated the additional district magistrate Abhishek Tripathi as the inquiry officer for the magisterial inquiry into the incident. Releasing an order on Wednesday evening, he said that a huge loss of life and property occurred due to electrocution at the project site for which a magisterial inquiry is absolutely necessary. He said that the inquiry officer will conduct a thorough investigation of the incident citing plausible reasons that caused the incident and submit its report to the administration within a week. The officer will also include complete details of people killed in the incident along with necessary suggestions on how such incidents can be prevented in future, added the DM. He said that further action will be taken according to the report.
