Meeting the standards of the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS), the Chamoli district hospital has received NQAS and Lakshya national certification, Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said.
The minister informed that the Health and Family Welfare ministry recently evaluated seven sections of the Chamoli district hospital, including labour room, maternity OT, general OT, pharmacy, radiology, maternity ward and general administration under the quality assurance standards. The assessment examined the hospital’s service system, patients’ rights and responsibilities, support services, clinical services, infection control standards and quality control, he said.
Rawat added that considering the examination the district hospital ranked highest in each section. Rawat credited the district quality assurance team, the chief medical officer and his team for meeting the NQAS standards. He also informed that Uttarakhand has received a total of 19 Lakshya national certifications.
In the current financial year 2024-25, the State has received two national certifications from the Central government, one being the Lakshya national certificate and the other being the NQAS certificate. Additionally, the NQAS evaluation of two medical units has been completed and the government is focused on improving medical facilities across the State, he said.
