Calling rumours about leadership change baseless, senior BJP leader Vinod Chamoli said that people are setting up their own narratives in the media in view of Vidhan Sabha elections in 2027.

Addressing reporters at the BJP State office on Monday, he said that the recent results of local body and Panchayat elections show that the BJP is in a strong position for the next Assembly elections. Chamoli said that the government’s earlier performance helped the party return to power and the current results suggest that the trend will continue. He added that under the leadership of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the BJP is working with focus on disaster management and providing relief to affected families. He said that decisions of the present cabinet, including those related to the anti-conversion law, Uniform Civil Code (UCC), anti-cheating law and anti-riot law, have shaped a new image of the State. On cabinet expansion, he said it is the prerogative of the Central leadership and the CM, and will be decided at the right time.

Chamoli rejected recent allegations raised by the opposition regarding law and order, saying the Congress is engaged in a competition of accusations and criticism. He said that law and order in the State remains under control and strict action has been taken in all major cases. He added that the consistent public support for the BJP in local elections indicates that the party is moving towards a third consecutive term in 2027.
