Champion refuses then agrees to treatment in Doon

Former Khanpur MLA Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ was referred to Dehradun by doctors in the Haridwar district hospital on Monday.

Suffering from gastrointestinal issues since Saturday night while in judicial custody for firing at the camp office of Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar on January 26, Singh first refused to undergo treatment in Dehradun then agreed to do so on Tuesday.

Doctors diagnosed him with colitis and gastroenteritis after various medical tests earlier on Sunday and were awaiting further test results before deciding to refer him to a higher centre. PMS Dr Vijayesh Bharadwaj is supervising the medical team treating Singh. The doctors suggested AIIMS in Rishikesh for cardiac, liver and prostate tests on Sunday, to which he refused. He agreed to go to the Government Doon Medical College on Monday and was discharged from the district hospital.

However, he returned soon after leaving for Dehradun.
