PNS/ DEHRADUN

To facilitate a smooth off-line registration of the pilgrims for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra, the administration will set up additional counters and these will operate for 24 hours a day, depending on the rush of the devotees, 15 days before the Yatra commencement. However, if the number is normal these counters will operate from 8 AM to 11 PM.

Informing this, the Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that 20 additional registration counters would set up each in Haridwar and Rishikesh. Besides, 15 counters will operate at Vikasnagar. Notably, 40 per cent of the registration will be done manually.

Pandey further said that the administrations of all the seven districts in Garhwal division have been directed to keep helicopters ready in case of emergency medical requirements of the pilgrims.

Further, the bus service for the yatra is being revamped. A total of 2000 buses will be brought into operation to transport the pilgrims.
