Char Dham shrines visited by about 10 lakh pilgrims so far
1,700 pilgrims visited Kedarnath by chopper in single day

Nearly 10 lakh people have visited the Char Dham shrines since the pilgrimage began on May 3.
According to information provided by the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC), from the date of reopening of Badrinath on May 8 to the evening of May 23, 2,99,552 persons had visited the shrine. From the date of reopening of Kedarnath on May 6 till the evening of May 23, 3,12,732 persons had visited Kedarnath temple. Similarly, since the opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri on May 3 till the evening of May 23, 1,82,677 and 1,32,870 persons had respectively visited these two shrines. According to the BKTC, 9,27,831 persons had visited the Char Dham shrines till the night of May 23. It is pertinent to mention here that despite the authorities making claims of providing latest information especially to pilgrims, the data regarding the number of pilgrims visiting the Char Dham being made available to the media are a day old.
Meanwhile, more than 1,700 pilgrims visited Kedarnath using helicopter services on a single day- Monday. Since the start of Char dham yatra in Uttarakhand, so far 30,883 pilgrims have used the helicopter services being operated in the state. A total of nine helicopter operators are providing services in the state. On May 23, a total of 305 shuttle services were operated in a day whereas since the start of helicopter services a total of 5,577 shuttle services have been operated so far.
The helicopter services to Kedarnath are being operated from Sirsee, Fata and Narayan Koti (Guptkashi).
