Chief secretary Radha Raturi has said that the proposed Char Dham Yatra dashboard will make the management of the Char Dham Yatra effective. Addressing a meeting held at the State secretariat on the subject on Thursday, the CS directed all the departments related to the Char Dham Yatra to regularly update real time data on the Char Dham dashboard which will be launched soon. She said that the dashboard will ensure effective exchange of information between all the departments associated with the Yatra.
The CS said that the dashboard will become a medium for data sharing and it will establish effective coordination among the departments and will end the tendency of them working in isolation. She said that one nodal officer in each department should be appointed for the dashboard. The CS said that the data updated on the dashboard should be dynamic and real time and it should be fed regularly.
Raturi directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to mandatorily include in the Chardham dashboard the data of black spots on the Yatra route and the slide zones, information about alternative routes apart from the main routes, roads obstructed by debris, landslides or traffic jams and road accidents.
She directed the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) to update the information about cancellation of heli services in the Dhams due to bad weather or other reasons. The CS directed the Animal Husbandry Department to provide information about fodder for mules on the Yatra route on the Char Dham dashboard. The Police should update real time data regarding parking places on the Yatra route and availability of parking space, she said.
The Char Dham dashboard is being prepared by ITDA and it will initially be used for administrative coordination and work of government departments and later it will be opened to the general public.
