The Chholia folk dance from the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand will be among the various performances to be staged in Ayodhya on the occasion of the consecration of the Ram temple today. Kamna Bisht from the Arts and Cultural Group is leading a group of 15 girls who will perform this folk dance in Ayodhya on Monday. The members of the group rehearsed their dance performance on the Ram Path in Ayodhya on Sunday.
Bisht hails from the Kadakot village in the Bhikiyasain block of Almora district. She along with two of her family members are participating in the programme being organised in Ayodhya. She said that her group will be performing the popular folk dance of Uttarakhand on the occasion when the whole world witnesses the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Group head Bharat Singh Bisht said that on the auspicious occasion of the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram temple, the youths of Uttarakhand have received an opportunity to showcase a folk dance from the State to the world.
