The former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and Telegu Desam president Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in the wee hours by criminal investigation department (CID) of the State government in connection with an alleged scam running into crores. He was first taken to Nadyala hospital for medical examination and then was produced in the court. The State ministers and leaders of the ruling YSR Congress Party alleged that the former CM had taken a bribe of Rs 118 crore. This aside, Naidu allegedly played a key role in a multi-crore scam. Notably, Naidu had said a few days before his arrest that he might be taken into custody.
