The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) continued its public hearing campaign for the Dehradun master plan 2041 on Tuesday. A public hearing camp was held at GRD University on Rajpur Road, where many residents, landowners, institutions and trade organisations took part.

During the meeting, citizens raised issues such as traffic congestion, lack of parking, poor drainage, road safety, environmental protection and the need to protect green areas. Many also suggested improving public transport and creating safe pathways for pedestrians. Landowners and institutions also shared their views on land use. MDDA vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said every suggestion and objection has been recorded and will be examined by technical experts before any decision is taken.

He said the Dehradun master plan 2041 is a long-term plan that will guide the city’s development in the coming years. The plan includes balanced growth of residential, commercial, industrial and green areas while protecting the environment and improving public facilities. Tiwari said public participation is important to make the plan practical and useful for the city’s future.

The public hearing campaign, which started on July 6, will continue until July 21 in different parts of Dehradun. The next public hearing will be held on Wednesday at Lichi Bagh near Dilaram Chowk. MDDA officials appealed to citizens to participate in large numbers and share their suggestions to help prepare a better and more sustainable master plan for Dehradun.
