City bus operators accuse NHAI of illegally charging them at Toll Plaza

Accusing National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) of illegally charging city bus operators at the new Toll Plaza near Lachhiwala, the Dehradun Mahanagar City Bus Seva Mahasangh has written to the project officer of NHAI in Dehradun to provide relaxation to the city buses.

According to the president of the association, Vijay Vardhan Dandriyal, none of the routes of city buses to Doiwala fall under NHAI except the 12 kilometres distance for which the authorities are charging exorbitantly to the city bus operators. “We want relaxation in this toll tax because we are not getting a single facility through this Toll Plaza. Charging city buses for such a short distance is completely wrong and if NHAI would not listen to us, we will be compelled to go to court,” said Dandriyal.
