Questioning the changing stance of the state BJP government on setting up of Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Pritam Singh has said that the government should make its stand clear on the sensitive issue. He said that when the board was constituted at the time of Trivendra Singh Rawat government it faced stiff resistance from Teerth Purohit after which the Congress party said that it would annul the board once it is in power. He said that after the change in guard in state, the new Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat had talked about reconsidering the decision on board.
However recently the Tourism and Culture minister Satpal Maharaaz announced that the government would not reconsider its decision on board. Singh said that after a huge hue and cry on this statement, Maharaaz clarified that his statement was misconstrued. He added that now the government has nominated members in the board which proves that the board has finally come into existence.
The PCC president said that the stand of Congress is clear on board from the very first day but the BJP government is continuously changing its position on the issue.
