To mark World Environment Day, Reckitt’s Dettol Banega Swasth India highlighted the impact of its Dettol Climate Resilient Schools programme in Uttarakhand, implemented in collaboration with the State government across the Char Dham region.

An AIIMS Rishikesh evaluation of four intervention schools and nine non-intervention schools found improved hygiene practices, stronger handwashing awareness, high soap usage, better health outcomes, consistent attendance, and no bacterial or parasitic infections among students in the intervention schools.

The study noted that students had adopted hygiene habits and were also influencing families and communities. Aligned with Mission LiFE, the initiative integrates climate resilience through campus, collaboration and curriculum, showing how schools can protect children’s health, strengthen learning environments and build community-level resilience.
