CM addresses agricultural congress at GBPUAT, stresses on innovations

On the second day of the 17th Agriculture Science Congress being organised at GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a agricultural science exhibition and visited the stalls put up by various public and private sector institutions accompanied by the vice- chancellor Manmohan Singh Chauhan. Thereafter, he addressed a gathering of officials, scientists, students and farmers and underscored the importance of hosting such conferences from time to time on the evolving pattern of agriculture in step with the progress of technology.
He spoke of the innovations being applied in agriculture and the schemes rolled out by his government to boost the agricultural sector and raise income of the farmers. He called upon the agricultural universities and scientists to work together with farmers so as to take the innovations to the grassroots level.
The VC also addressed the gathering and appreciated the State government’s initiatives to enhance agricultural production and ensure farmers’ wellbeing.
