CM announces hike in rate for dairy producers, Badri cow centre in Bharadisain

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that a Badri cow training centre will be opened at Bharadisain and that the rate given to dairy producers will be raised by Re one per litre. He also presented cheques to beneficiaries under the Uttarakhand State Livestock Mission and launched the Aanchal honey and Aanchal reward scheme at a programme here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, Dhami said that the State government has set a target of providing loans in the next two years for setting up 4,500 units of milch cattle, mules, goats-sheep, pigs and poultry. He said that the livestock mission has proved to be a milestone not only for family nutrition and livelihood in remote mountainous regions but also for mitigating migration. For the first time a goat valley scheme is being implemented in the State through which 1,500 beneficiaries have received NCDC loans and more than 17,000 goats. Poultry is also being encouraged through poultry valley and broiler farms with 4,000 poultry farmers in 10 districts being benefitted under this initiative, he said.
Among the beneficiaries who received cheques, three women members of the Nainital Dugdh Utpadak Sahkari Sangh (NDUSS) were also presented cheques as incentive for high dairy production. Himani Bisht of Haripur Kuwarsingh dairy committee, Deepa Devi and Pushpa Bisht were among those presented the cheques by the CM.
Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development minister Saurabh Bahuguna and Agriculture minister Ganesh Joshi also addressed the gathering. NDUSS chairman Mukesh Bora thanked Dhami and Bahuguna for the consistent support being provided to the dairy sector.
