IAS officers Navneet Pandey & Lalit Mohan Rayal appointed for resolving issues of MLAs

In what can be termed as a Deepawali gift to the MLAs of the State Assembly, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has appointed two IAS officers as nodal officers for fast disposal of their proposals and issues in the State secretariat. He has nominated additional secretaries, Navneet Pandey and Lalit Mohan Rayal to deal with the issues related to the MLAs of Kumaon and Garhwal respectively. In a letter written to all 70 MLAs, the CM said that MLAs need to continuously tour their constituencies and they have to regularly visit the State secretariat for the fast disposal of the issues which crop up before them during the tour of their constituency. They have to come to Dehradun for follow up and other purposes which affect their public outreach and tour of constituencies. It also causes loss of time and resources. Dhami said that in view of the problem of the MLAs, IAS officers have been designated for the administrative and financial clearances of the issues raised by them.  These officers would be responsible for coordination between the departments concerned for fast disposal of the proposals and complaints of the MLAs and they would also inform the MLAs about the status of their proposal or issue.

It is pertinent to mention here that recently the CM had asked the MLAs to prepare a list of ten development projects for their constituency on the basis of priority and submit them to the State government. Observers opine that close on the heels of this offer, the decision of the CM to appoint two IAS officers as nodal officers for quick disposal of their issues suggests that he is serious about the development related issues.
