CM appoints three women vice chairpersons of USCW

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had appointed three women as vice chairpersons of the Uttarakhand State Commission for Women (USCW). The three have also been accorded State minister status. Shayara Bano from Kashipur, who was the original petitioner in Supreme Court against triple talaq has been made the USCW vice chairperson (first), Jyoti Shah from Ranikhet has been made vice chairperson (second) and Pushpa Paswan from Chamoli has been made vice chairperson (third) of the commission. The post of vice chairpersons in the USCW had been vacant for quite some time. The CM said that with these vacant posts now being filled, it will help in resolving the issues and problems related to women in the state.
