In latest news from Dehradun, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials concerned to firm up a detailed action plan for protection and promotion of the classical Sanskrit language while chairing the 9th general committee meeting of the Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy at the Secretariat. While lauding the initiatives being taken by the Sanskrit Academy, he stressed on taking the matter further through more promotional initiatives. To make Uttarakhand a leading State in the matter of protecting and promoting the anicient language of India, he said that innovation and research involving science and technology were required. He assured that the funds required for this would be cleared on a priority basis. While dwelling on the cultural significance of the language, he said that this language signifies the unique cultural identity of this country with the hoary scriptures and literature being written in it.
