Taking a stern note on the absence of ministers from the districts assigned to them the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has asked the Ministers to stay in the districts assigned to them and monitor the relief and rescue operations.
The CM urged all the district in-charge ministers to stay put in the respective districts and ensure that the rescue and relief operations are expedited across rain-ravaged Uttarakhand.
The CM’s directive assumes significance since the State is reeling under the impact of heavy rain and the floods for the past few days. The CM said that the relentless rain has created disaster-like situations in several parts of the State. In this difficult situation, the officers and employees of the departments concerned of the government have remained engaged in rescue and relief operations involving the rain-affected people, he said and expressed the hope that all the ministers would go and stay put in the districts under their charge to oversee and speed up rescue and relief operations.
It is pertinent to mention here that the opposition is targeting the government for absence of minister in charges from the districts at a time when the State is facing a disaster like situation.
