CM celebrates Deepawali with soldiers in Himalayas

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat celebrated Deepawali with jawans of ITBP at their camp in Kopang, Uttarkashi and the jawans of Bihar Regiment at Harshil in Uttarkashi on Saturday. During his interaction with the soldiers, the CM boosted their morale while wishing them a happy Deepawali.

The CM said that the jawans of the Indian army and paramilitary forces work in difficult conditions in border and remote areas to protect the nation. It is because of such soldiers that the people of the nation are able to sleep peacefully. He said, “I got an opportunity to spend some time with jawans of the army and ITBP which is a matter of good fortune for me. Uttarakhand has had a deep connection with the armed forces with a large number of our youths serving in various armed forces. My father too was in the army and being from a soldier’s family I have a personal bond with soldiers. Our armed forces are considered to be among the best in the world. In this remote and border area, the dedication with which women officers are discharging their duty sets an example for all. We will facilitate camping of IAS, IFS and IPS officers of the state in remote areas every year,” said the CM.
