CM checks road construction & beautification works for Destination Uttarakhand

Returning from New Delhi on Sunday, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the road construction and beautification works from Jolly Grant area to the Forest Research Institute (FRI). The CM also inspected the venue of the global investors summit- ‘Destination Uttarakhand’ event to be held at FRI on December 8 and 9.

Inspecting the venue, Dhami directed officials to ensure that all the necessary arrangements are made before the event. Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to inaugurate the event, he said that all the departments concerned should complete the arrangements on their part to make this event grand. “This summit is very important for the State. Agreements amounting to about Rs 2,50,000 crore have been signed during various roadshows held so far and the process of grounding the agreements is also progressing at a swift pace. The State government is according top priority to the investment proposals which have greater potential for employment generation. The State government is consistently making efforts to facilitate maximisation of employment opportunities in the State for the youth of Uttarakhand,” Dhami said.

Earlier, while inspecting the road construction and beautification works from Jolly Grant to FRI, the CM also interacted with the local residents and shopkeepers and sought their feedback on the works. Officials said that the local residents and shopkeepers appreciated swift road construction and better beautification works. Dhami also interacted with the labourers involved in the beautification works. He directed the officials to make sure that the remaining works are also completed soon.

The CM said that PM Modi is providing full guidance for the global investors summit Destination Uttarakhand. He said that Destination Uttarakhand is being taken forward with inspiration from Modi’s Vibrant Gujarat initiative. The investors summit in Dehradun will help increase investment in the State, boost the economy of the State and also increase the employment opportunities for the youth of the State, the CM said.

Secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, Pankaj Kumar Pande, Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pande, Dehradun district magistrate Sonika and Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari along with other officials were also among those present with the CM during his inspection.
