In latest news from Uttarakhand, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a surprise inspection of the office of the assistance regional transport officer (ARTO) in Ramnagar. It is learnt that the CM checked the files and asked the officers and employees of the department several questions. He took detailed information from the officers about the posts lying vacant and also about the records kept there. The CM instructed the ARTO Sandeep Verma to impose penalties sternly as regards overloading, breaking speed limits and drunken driving so as to reduce the number of road accidents. He further said that his government is committed to bringing about work culture uniformity from the level of the secretariat to the level of the blocks to ensure that the people’s grievances are addressed sans delay. It is further learnt that during the surprise inspection, things in the office were found in good order and he sounded satisfied over it.
