CM conducts surprise inspection of GDMC Hospital

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a surprise inspection of the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on Tuesday. The sudden arrival of the CM took the hospital staff by surprise. In the inspection, Dhami visited the wards of the hospital and took stock of the situation. He interacted with the patients and their relatives and inquired about their problems faced by them. The CM also visited the canteen of the hospital and tasted the food served to the patients. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the service of the patients is equivalent to the service of god. He told the staff members of the hospital that they should behave in a good manner with the patients and added that half of the diseases get cured by good and compassionate behavior.
On a terse note, the CM said that special emphasis on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the hospital should be ensured. He said that a clean environment infuses a positive energy in everyone. The CM directed the hospital authorities to make such an arrangement where the patients are not forced to wait for long for getting treatment and the relatives of the patients too don’t face any problems. The CM said that necessary medicines should be made available in the hospital. The CM visited the emergency wards, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and dengue ward in the hospital during his inspection.
The secretary in-charge of the Health department, R Rajesh Kumar, the principal of GDMC Dr. Ashutosh Sayana and officers of the Health department accompanied the CM on the visit.
