Two PWD engineers suspended for inferior road work
Cracking the whip on inefficiency in departmental work soon after assuming charge, chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat ordered the suspension of two engineers of the Public Works Department for inferior quality of work in road construction. The PWD principal secretary has issued orders for suspension of both the engineers.
Taking serious cognisance of the case spread through the social media, the CM had ordered the suspension of PWD assistant engineer Ajit Singh and junior engineer Anil Kumar for inferior work between kilometres 154-155 of the Lakshmanjhula-Kandi-Dugadda-Rathuadhab-Dhumakot motor road under the PWD Dugadda provincial division. Rawat has also ordered a probe into this incident.
The CM said that corruption and negligence in work will not be tolerated at all. He reiterated that the state government is committed to provide a clean, transparent and honest administration. Strict action will be taken at whichever level any gaps are found, he added.
