CM Dhami continues extensive tour of disaster affected areas

Visits Chamoli & Pauri on Friday; directs officers to restore facilities, provide health care services to affected

Continuing his extensive tour of the state, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited disaster affected areas of Chamoli and Pauri districts on Friday. After meeting the affected families in Chamoli district the CM held a meeting with the district level officers at the  auditorium of district collectorate. In the meeting he directed the officers to restore the road connections, electricity lines and drinking water lines and provide immediate relief to the affected families. He directed the health department that medical facilities and medicines should reach all the affected areas without any delay. He said that the arrangement of Air Ambulances was made to save the lives of people in disaster. He directed that the critical burn patients admitted in district hospital Gopeshwar should be shifted to the higher centre by air ambulance. The CM assured that resources would not be any constraint in helping the disaster affected people.  On a terse note the CM said that all the roads  which are still blocked should be opened and said that if need arises the JCB Machines and other equipment should be airlifted to ensure that all roads are clear. He said that the availability of food grains should be ensured for the affected families and the use of Wireless in Local Loop (WLL) system should be made to restore telecommunication services in affected areas. Dhami directed the officers of the Public Works Department (PWD) that all the roads should be made free from ditches before November 7 and warned that laxity would not be tolerated in this regard. Appreciating the prompt action of the administration the CM said that everyone worked efficiently during the disaster.  Apart from reviewing the relief, rescue and reconstruction works the CM also took information about the Badrinath master plan. He also visited district hospital Gopeshwar and met the admitted patients.

The meeting was attended by the minister in charge of Chamoli Satpal Maharaj, disaster management minister Dhan Singh Rawat, district BJP President Raghuvir Bisht, Chairman district cooperative bank Gajendra Singh Rawat and officials of Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
