CM Dhami inaugurates new building of SCERT in Dehradun

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the newly constructed building of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Uttarakhand here on Wednesday. The CM also inaugurated 442 smart class rooms established in different schools of the State in the programme. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that he had given a target of two years to complete the construction of the SCERT building to the education department which it accomplished. The building has been constructed with a budget of Rs 29.25 crore.

He said that the new building will help in educational development, teacher training, educational research and overall development of the State’s education system.
He said that with the start of 442 smart classes, the quality of teaching and learning system in government schools of the State will increase. Dhami said that the State government is also working on setting up virtual and smart classes in hybrid mode in 840 schools of the State. Free textbooks are being provided to children from class I to XII and shoes and bags are also being provided along with free textbooks to children from class I to VIII. The CM said that the state government is determined that no student of the state should be deprived of basic necessities and their studies should not be affected.

The education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that this year the Uttarakhand Board result was declared on 30 April due to which students got a chance to take admission in good institutions for higher education in different parts of the country. He said that the results in the year 2025 will be declared before April 20. The minister said that the department has made the system of transfers of teachers transparent and the transfers are being done by holding counselling sessions.

Rawat said that in the schools where there are less than 70 percent teachers, the transferred teachers will not be relieved until new teachers join.

The director general (DG) of school education Banshidhar Tiwari expressed his gratitude to the CM for providing inspiration and new direction to the education department. He said that with the construction of its own building of SCERT, new dimensions will be achieved in the field of educational development, training and research. The Director SCERT Vandana Garbyal, Director Secondary Education. Mahavir Singh Bisht, Director primary education Ramakrishna Uniyal and other officers were present on the occasion.
