Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met the union railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi on Friday. In the meeting he requested for operation of Vande Bharat express between Lucknow and Dehradun and clearance for the construction of the much awaited Tanakpur-Bageshwar rail line. The duo also held discussion on strengthening the railway connectivity in the State and extension of services in the mountainous areas.
The CM also requested Ahmedabad to Kathgodam train service, commencement of direct railway service from Haridwar to Dehradun and resuming the practice of adding coaches of Kotdwar in Doon express and of Ramnagar in Janata express. He also pitched for the operation of a new rail service from Tanakpur to Mehdipur Balaji.
Dhami said that the extension of railway service will be beneficial for the people of the State and the tourists. This will also help in improving the economy of the State. On his part the Railways minister assured every possible help to Uttarakhand.
