CM Dhami raises various issues with Pradhan

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met the Union Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the national Capital on Sunday. The chief minister requested the Union minister to grant approval to the proposals for establishing Kendriya Vidyalayas at Narendranagar in Tehri district and at Kotdwar in Pauri district.

Dhami informed Pradhan that the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Dehradun region, regional office had sent a proposal for this purpose to the joint commissioner (personnel) at the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (HQ) in New Delhi. Dhami requested Pradhan to grant approval for opening the Kendriya Vidyalaya schools at the two locations in the interests of the local people of the state. He further requested the union minister to direct the executing agency to speed up the work on construction of the Kendriya Vidyalaya building in Mahaliya village in Khatima Tehsil of Udham Singh Nagar district.

The chief minister said that important initiatives have been taken during the past four years to bring about a quality improvement in school education in the state of Uttarakhand. The Central government is also providing all necessary assistance to the state under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan. Dhami further opined that in the new National Education Policy also the government of India has laid special focus on quality education. The chief minister also requested the Union minister to include Uttarakhand state in the accelerating state education programme to improve results.
