CM Dhami receives rapturous welcome on arrival in Doon

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami who had registered a landslide victory in Champawat by election was given a rapturous welcome by the workers of BJP and his supporters on his arrival in Dehradun from Champawat on Saturday. A huge crowd had gathered in the parade ground on Saturday afternoon to receive CM Dhami. At the parade ground where the CM’s helicopter landed, a large number of BJP leaders and party functionaries welcomed him. The victory procession of Dhami then headed towards the state office of BJP. His cavalcade was led by the enthusiastic activists of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha pon motorcycles. The CM acknowledged the adulation of the crowd from the open mini truck. He was accompanied by the president of Uttarakhand BJP Madan Kaushik, cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi, Mayor of Dehradun Sunil Uniyal Gama and others. A big crowd of the BJP leaders and workers were present at the BJP headquarters to welcome and garland CM Dhami. Here the workers were shouting slogans in support of Dhami and were dancing to the beats of drums.
Before heading for Dehradun, Dhami offered special prayers at Nanak Sahib Gurudwara in Nanakmatta on Saturday morning. Here he was offered memorabilia by the Gurudwara committee.
Dhami created history on Friday when he registered a record breaking victory in the Champawat by elections. He defeated his nearest rival Nirmala Gehtodi of Congress party by a margin of 55,025 votes. The margin of the victory of the CM Dhami can be understood from the fact that he garnered a staggering 93 per cent of the total votes polled and all other candidates including his main rival Congress candidate forfeited their security deposit.
