CM Dhami visits disaster affected Tingarh village in Tehri

The Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that natural disasters have always posed a challenge to Uttarakhand due to its tough geographical conditions. He said that it is necessary to deal with the disaster by being alert and responding in the shortest possible time period.
The CM visited the makeshift relief camp for disaster affected people at government inter college at Vinak Khal in Tehri on Tuesday. He took stock of the arrangements made for the affected and directed the officers to make proper arrangements for children, pregnant women, elderly and disabled people in the relief camp. The CM also interacted with the disaster affected people and heard their grievances.
Dhami said that he is continuously seeking information about the situation since the day of the disaster. He expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in the disaster. While expressing condolences, he prayed for peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved families to bear this moment of grief.
Dhami said that both the Union and the State government are standing with the affected people in this hour of need.
He said that the process of relocation of the Tingarh village has started. The reconstruction of the security wall, school building, bridges and embankments will be done quickly. Dhami assured that there will be no shortage of funds in the disaster relief works.
The CM directed the officials to remain alert about the dilapidated buildings and houses which are in danger. He said that the disaster affected people should not face any problem and their life should be brought back to normal as before.
The District Magistrate (DM) of Tehri Mayur Dixit said that geological survey has been done for rehabilitation/displacement of Tingarh village, and in-principle approval for it has been received. He said that the process of land identification is being done and people will be rehabilitated gradually on the basis of land availability.
Dixit added that the process of shifting 28 families of village Kot is underway. A temporary cowshed has been identified for about 100 domestic animals of Tingarh village.
The vice President Uttarakhand State disaster management authority Vinay Rohilla, District Panchayat chairperson Sona Sajwan, MLA Ghansali Shakti Lal Shah, SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar and others were present on the occasion.
