CM directs officers to resolve public grievances promptly

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the prompt resolution of public grievances is one of the top priorities of the State government. He said that accountability of governance and administration will only be meaningful when quality and timely solutions to the problems of ordinary citizens are ensured. The CM heard the problems and complaints of citizens from various regions of the State at his camp office on Friday.
He instructed officials to ensure that every public problem is resolved with sensitivity, transparency and in a time bound manner, so that the public does not have to make unnecessary rounds of offices.
The CM stated that the State government is working on the principles of public welfare and good governance. He directed officials to seriously examine each complaint, take effective action as per the rules and keep the complainant informed of the progress of the resolution. He averred that it is the government’s responsibility to meet the expectations of the people of the State. “Every officer should work with a spirit of public service and demonstrate complete sensitivity and responsibility in resolving public problems. He said that any unnecessary delay in resolving public complaints will not be tolerated,’’ he said.
He directed Garhwal commissioner Anand Swaroop and IG Garhwal Rajiv Swaroop who were present on the occasion, to ensure the resolution of public problems is done on a priority basis. He said that matters that can be resolved at the district or departmental level should be resolved immediately and those requiring a decision at a higher level should be forwarded to the concerned departments for immediate necessary action.
The CM also directed the officials to make the public hearing system more effective and result-oriented, so that every citizen of the state can get justice and relief in time.
