CM directs State administration to complete Char Dham Yatra preparations

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the State administration to complete all the preparations for the Char Dham Yatra. He said that the registration process of the pilgrims should be strengthened.
The CM gave the orders while chairing a meeting with the State officials for the Char Dham Yatra at the secretariat on Monday.
The CM said that Yatra attracts the attention of the country and the world and efforts should be made at every level to make the Yatra accessible and safe. He said that the Yatra is the lifeline of the State and is the backbone of its economy. The CM directed the officials to work on the preparations while taking lessons from the experiences of last year. He said that the pilgrims should not face unnecessary hassles and proper arrangement of their health screening. The CM directed that the Animal Husbandry department should undertake a health check-up of the horses and mules on the Yatra route and make arrangements of hot drinking water and fodder for them. On a terse note the CM directed that the road broadening and construction works which are currently underway should be completed soon. He said that it should be ensured that the pilgrims are not unnecessarily stopped on the Yatra route. The CM said that basic facilities to the pilgrims should be provided whenever the Yatra is temporarily halted for management purposes.
The CM directed the officers to ensure that the Helicopter tickets are not sold in black and strict action should be taken on persons involved in such activities.
The CM directed the secretaries and senior officers of Police to conduct field inspection of the Char Dham Yatra arrangements.
He said that mobile connectivity should be ensured and surveillance by drones should be done at sensitive places on the Yatra route. The CM directed that the system of real time update of the Yatra should be strengthened. In the meeting the CM also interacted with the district magistrates of the districts on the Yatra route and reviewed the preparation.
He asked the IAS, IPS and PCS officers to adopt the tehsil, block and the police station from where they started their career and help in their development.’
The meeting was attended by cabinet ministers Satpal Maharaj and Dhan Singh Rawat, additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan, principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, R Meenakshi Sudaram and senior officers of the police and administration.
Make efforts for Green Char Dham Yatra: CM to officers
DEHRADUN:The Uttarakhand government is planning to make the Char Dham Yatra this year as the green Yatra. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has asked the officers to start the campaign for the Green Char Dham Yatra. He said that adequate publicity should be made about the ban on single use plastic in Yatra routes. The CM added that proper sanitation arrangements should be made in the Yatra and adequate arrangements for pink toilets should be made for the convenience of women. Dhami exhorted the officers and public representatives to undertake a sanitation campaign on the Yatra routes.
